so, here i am again, but this time to talk about the issue with age certificates. this may become whiny so please be open minded. I have only really experienced the annoyance of not being allowed to see a film because of my age twice. first was Sweeney Todd and the second is Watchmen which are both 18's.I watched Sweeney Todd on both on DVD and I'm sad to say illegally downloaded on a friends computer. This is one of the problems with age certificates, many who are not able to see a film because of their age at the cinema just end up downloading it illegally off the Internet. Sweeney Todd i didn't actually class as very bad... the blood looked rather fake and the singing seemed to make it more light-hearted... although it was still a fantastic film. Watchmen is coming out in less than a week and is rather big for me since i read the comic and was so inspired by it i couldn't help being incredibly annoyed at the age rating for it. i can tell why its an 18, there is ALOT of sexual content in the graphic novel, but still it annoys me that i am restricted from seeing something (in the cinema) that might be one of the best movies i will ever see. i just wish that age certificates were more lenient. my idea is that there shouldn't be just 12A's but also 15A's and 18A's. i know to some this may just be a whiny idea from a teenager but i still feel that age certificates shouldn't be so strict, but that's my opinion, it would be nice to hear yours.
